The Three Bonnies
The Three Bonnies is a feature film which is at first draft stage.
After 10 years of no contact with their older sister, two young women kidnap her from a nursing home, then set off on a road-trip to Melbourne to go and live with their Dad - hotly pursued by their Mother and a man who wants his son's wheelchair back.
A comedy-drama.
LION
Lion is James's entry for the BBC Writers Academy 2022 which got him down to the last 26% of entrants. This pilot episode follows Aliona (Lion) who suffers with multiple mental health problems as she finds that she has accidentally kidnapped a child belonging to a member of the Australian Mafia.
A comedy drama/thriller. Think Modern Family meets Killing Eve.
Lonely At The Top
Currently under consideration for funding.
'Lonely At The Top' is a short film which shines a light on the mental health crisis in the elderly community. The film focuses subtly on themes such as loneliness, poverty, isolation and more serious disorders.
Four Sugars, Just Like My Brother
This pilot script for a gritty 3 part drama series got James down to the final 26% of entrants for the 2020 BBC Writers Academy.
The story follows Jimmy a 30-something year old man as he returns to Dublin for the first time since running away as a child, to attend the funeral of his younger brother Declan.
Was Declan's death in the park really suicide? And why did Jimmy escape his life when he was just a boy?
I See You Harry
I See You Harry was James' first attempt at writing a feature length screenplay. This two hour film was written in 2013 and got to the second read through in the BBC Writersroom Scheme aswell as gaining some interest from agents at the time. A buyer nor producer transpired in the end and the script has sat gathering dust for 7 years....until now.
The story is a coming-of-age comedy drama about Harry, a 20 something year old man who is confined to a wheelchair after an accident. The story explores his relationship with his sister as she nears becoming a teenager and starting a new school.

TERRY (short film)
Terry is the short film that James wrote in 2018 and resulted in him getting to the interview stage for a production company who make Netflix Originals.
James is very interested in hearing from producers/film-makers who want to turn this script in to a film. With the focus being sending it to film festivals far and wide.
